CLASSICAL BALLET PROGRAM

Children’s Dance

Mommy & Me (ages 3-4)

Young Children’s Dance (ages 5-6)

Children’s Dance (ages 6-7)

One creative movement class per week, with age-appropriate introduction to the fundamentals of ballet.

Classical Ballet Fundamentals

Minimum of 1 class per week required for Pre-Ballet and Ballet I. Minimum of 2 classes per week required for Ballet II. It is highly recommended that all new students take a ballet fundamentals class in addition to their placement level regardless of ability. Students meeting the class requirements are invited and encouraged to participate in Dance Del Bello’s Annual Spring Production, with rehearsals taking place outside of valuable class time.

Pre-Ballet (ages 7-8)

Ballet I (ages 8 & up)

Ballet II

Intermediate Ballet

Minimum of 2 classes per week required for Ballet II/III, and minimum of 3 classes per week required for Ballet III and Ballet III/IV, with additional pre-pointe and/or pointe classes upon teacher recommendation. Participation in Beginning Modern or Jazz is strongly encouraged. Students meeting the above class requirements are invited and encouraged to participate in Dance Del Bello’s Winter and Spring Season Productions, with rehearsals taking place outside of valuable class time.

Ballet II-III

Ballet III

Ballet III/IV

Advanced Ballet

Minimum of 3 – 4 Ballet Technique, 2 Pointe and 1 Modern Technique classes per week required. Students at this level are invited to perform twice a year with the professional dancers of Dance Del Bello, advancing from Apprentice to Company Member during the course of their training.

Ballet IV-V

Ballet V

Pointe & Variations

The faculty of PA Dance Institute views pointe and performance as an extension of ballet technique. Placement in a Pointe or Variations Class is not based on the student’s age or level. Class proficiency, consistency and most importantly foot, ankle and core strength determine the individual dancer’s readiness for pointe work.
